Our Privacy Commitment

Map is designed with privacy at its core. Your financial data stays on your device. We do not have access to your transactions, balances, forecasts, or any financial information you enter into the app.

Data We Collect

Data Stored On Your Device Only

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Transaction records and descriptions
• Account balances and financial forecasts
• Goals, milestones, and trajectory data
• All financial calculations and projections

To delete this data, simply delete the app from your device.

Data Processed by Third Parties

AI Processing (OpenAI)

When you use voice entry, receipt scanning, or PDF import features, your input (audio, image, or text) is sent to OpenAI for processing. This data is:

• Processed to extract transaction information
• Not stored by us after processing completes
• Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy

We do not use your data to train AI models.

Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog to understand how people use Map so we can improve the app. We collect:

• Feature usage patterns (which screens you visit, buttons you tap)
• Device information (iOS version, device model)
• App performance metrics

We do NOT collect your financial data, transaction amounts, account balances, or any monetary values through analytics.

Payments (Apple App Store)

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Error Logging

When errors occur, we may collect diagnostic information to help us fix issues. Error logs may include:

• Technical error details (stack traces, error messages)
• Device and app version information
• Content you submitted that triggered the error (e.g., voice transcription text, scanned receipt text)

We do not intentionally collect personal information through error logging, but content you provide may include personal details. Error logs are:

• Used solely for debugging and improving the app
• Retained for a maximum of 90 days
• Not linked to your identity
• Automatically deleted after the retention period

Map is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us immediately.
